CURRENT & PAST KIWANIS PROJECTS

At the Kiwanis Club of Greenville, service is at the heart of everything we do. The Kiwanis Club of Greenville meets the first four Tuesdays of the month at the W. Walworth Harrison Public Library in Greenville, Texas.

Throughout the year, our members support projects that benefit children, families, schools, first responders, and local organizations throughout Greenville and Hunt County. Some projects are long-standing traditions, while others grow from new needs we see in our community.

Whether we’re raising funds, volunteering our time, recognizing local heroes, supporting youth programs, or partnering with other community organizations, our goal is simple: to make a meaningful difference right here at home.

KIWANIS PROJECTS

Greenville High School Key Club & Scholarships

Supporting the next generation of community leaders is one of the club’s highest priorities. The Noon Kiwanis Club helps support Greenville High School’s Key Club and provides scholarships to deserving students. Key Club is a student-led service organization focused on leadership, character, and community service.

Greenville Flags Project

Kiwanis members have supported the Greenville Flags Project, a community effort centered on honoring local military service members and remembering those who gave their lives in service. This project reflects the club’s commitment to patriotism, remembrance, and community participation.

Salvation Army of Hunt County

The club supports the Salvation Army of Hunt County and its work serving local families and individuals in need. The Hunt County service center provides assistance including food support, social services, youth programs, emergency assistance, and other community resources.

Meals on Wheels

Kiwanis members help support Meals on Wheels and senior services throughout Hunt County. The local program, operated through Senior Center Resources and Public Transit, serves roughly 12,000 meals each month and relies heavily on volunteers to deliver meals, prepare and package food, assist in the office, and connect with local seniors.

First Responder Recognition

Each year, the Noon Kiwanis Club recognizes outstanding local first responders from the Greenville Fire Department, Greenville Police Department, and Hunt County Sheriff’s Office. The club’s annual First Responder Awards honor an Officer, Deputy, and Firefighter of the Year for exceptional service and dedication to the community.

Hunt County Veterans Parade

Kiwanis members support the annual veterans parade and related efforts honoring the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The event brings the community together to recognize veterans and preserve Hunt County’s strong tradition of honoring military service.

Greenville Christmas Parade

The club participates in and supports Greenville’s annual Christmas Parade of Lights, one of the city’s most popular community traditions. Held in downtown Greenville, the parade features lighted floats, marching bands, vehicles, horses, and family activities and traditionally marks the beginning of the local Christmas season.

Community Events Honoring Veterans, First Responders & Seniors

Beyond the club’s recurring signature projects, Noon Kiwanis helps organize and support events that recognize people who have served the community — including veterans, military personnel, first responders, and senior citizens. These events provide opportunities for appreciation, fellowship, and community connection.

Local Community Partnerships

Throughout the year, the club works alongside local nonprofits, civic organizations, schools, and community leaders to respond to needs throughout Greenville and Hunt County. These partnerships allow Kiwanis members to contribute volunteer hours, financial support, and hands-on assistance where it can make the greatest local impact.
